At The Hutchinson Group we believe that the world deserves to be looked after better by all of us, and each of us has the power and a role to play in that. We are driven to seek opportunities to effect the greatest change for a better world.

I’m a proud New Zealander and am proud of my family heritage. The pioneering spirit of my ancestors has given me the inspiration to grow The Hutchinson Group of companies into something that [will hopefully inspire] future generations will hopefully be proud of.

With a strong focus on leaving the planet in a better state for future generations, our longest operating business, The Relocatable House Company was founded by my mother Chrissey and myself, with the vision of enabling more New Zealanders the opportunity to own their own homes. We strongly believe that more New Zealanders owning their own home, creates better family environments, better communities and better futures.

Chrissey has now retired but her passion of turning a house into a home, combined with my banking experience in property and business finance, enabled us to start The Relocatable House Company and grow it over the past 10 years, into a business that stands firm to its values and moves in excess of 100 houses a year. Relocating these houses has also given us the opportunity to be able to divert these construction materials from ending up in landfill.

With a strong passion for caring for the land and his farming heritage, my father Bill and I created Goodwood Wood Waste Solutions, a company that turns untreated timber wood waste, that would have otherwise ended up in landfill, into sustainable, environmentally friendly, value added wood products.

With hard work, dedication and help from both local and central government monetary grants, Goodwood has been able to divert in excess of 100,000 tonne of untreated wood waste from landfill since its inception in 2015 and create value added wood products such as Bonnie the Cow animal bedding for the agricultural industry, garden mulch, horticultural mulch, goodfall for playgrounds and motorway mulch.

With our teams we have set the goals of housing 5,000 families over the next 10 years and to recycle 1,000,000 tonne of materials by 2029. These goals are going to stretch our teams and extend as beyond what we believe to be possible. I am excited about the future for The Hutchinson Group.
